League Rules

These rules keep the game moving and maximize skill development, touches, and fun for every player.

Game Format

  • Running Clock: The clock runs continuously (stops only for timeouts or injuries).

  • Game Length: Two halves (15–20 minutes recommended; set by league).

  • Timeouts: One timeout per team, per game.

Scoring

  • Inside Arc: Worth 1 point.

  • Beyond Arc: Worth 2 points.

  • Free Throws: 1 shot worth 2 points.

Possession Rules

  • Check Ball: Every possession begins at the top with a “check.”

  • Clear the Ball: After any missed field‑goal attempt by the other team, the ball must be taken back beyond the 3‑point line before a new shot.

  • After Makes: The opponent starts with a check at the top.

Fouls

  • Non‑Shooting Fouls: Possession at the top of the key for the fouled team.

  • Shooting Fouls: One free throw is worth 2 points.

  • Sportsmanship: Excessive fouling or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in loss of possession or ejection at the referee's discretion.

Other Rules

  • Jump Balls: Alternating possession.

  • Substitutions: Only during dead balls or timeouts.

  • Overtime: Sudden death — first score wins.
